Long Lost Photos

I've been wanting to post these photos...but you know how it goes, I got busy then I just forgot...So better late than never! This is the day I went into the hospital, my last prego pic. Seems so long ago... Ugh. For most of the labor pics I was smiling - the ones where you know the hubby has the camera out, so you stop and shoot him a quick smile - but the other majority of the time is spent trying to "relax" through the contractions pretty sure I was thinking "alright tawni you can do this. here we go. oh geesh i'm going to be having a baby. ok ok focus...1,2,3,4,5, ugghhhhh" Here's our Halloween photo. Isla was a very masculine football. Basically it was cheap and it was a very warm bunting. Here's my BFF from college highschool 8th grade -Shaughnessy and her baby boy Ryon. They met us up at the HYPER field while Micah was playing an alumni Lacrosse game. Ryon gave her some lovin' Her cousin Kairie and Grandma Maisie giving Isla some kisses. Too cute ;) Micah's family got together for Mother's Day (now I can be in the mommy pic!!) Here's all the girls - minus Micah's other sister Brittany - I just love my in-laws. Hopefully I can start organizing and backing up our other pictures. Since Isla was born I feel overwhelmed with how many pictures there are! How do you guys keep your photographs organized??

So sick.

Baby Isla - Tuesday was by far the worst day you've had yet. We went up to Logan so you could wish Grandma Maisie a Happy Birthday but you started throwing up ALOT. We couldn't keep anything down you and you were MISERABLE. I thought that it was teething because you had cold like symptoms since Saturday afternoon. But vomiting is NOT part of the teething process I was assured from nurses, mommys, and google.

Mommy and Daddy had a rookie parent move - we kept trying to feed you a bottle of your formula, Aunt Ashley came to the rescue and told mommy that she needed to get some Pedialyte down you because it had been 9 hours since you had something to eat. Mommy and Daddy couldn't believe they never thought of that. Good thing we have some great advice around us. You drank it up and it stayed down - you went into a deep sleep after that.

The next morning you woke up after 12 hours of straight sleep SMILING. I was still worried because I didn't know what to look for after the spout of throw up. So I called our "on-call" nurse, Katie Marcheschi, who works as an R.N. at Primary Children's Hospital on the surgical floor. She gave me some great tips, watching for a wet diaper, poop, tracking your temperature, don't go too long on pedialyte alone, and to make sure to rush you to your pediatrician if you didn't keep anything down in the next couple of hours.

I was really worried. I felt so helpless. I held you all day long. I was in tears because I was so upset at how sick you were. But I'm glad you're feeling better. We love you and your smiles.

p.s. you now have some hair that a flower can clip too! yeah!

Travis, Grandma Maisie, Ashley, Ryan, Me, Isla, and Micah at Texas Roadhouse for my mom's birthday. The girls went and got some pedicures - i've taken a break ALL Winter from pedicures, it was heavenly.
Micah and I tested our marriage on Wednesday night. He let me cut his hair. Crazy right? I thought that it was a good idea, my sister had gone to cosmetology school and showed me one time how to do it on Micah. So Micah picked up a walmart kit and I dived right in...well until I made the first buzz, and thought to myself:
"This is a really bad idea. Wow that was a lot of hair. Oh my gosh, what if I mess up?? He has a meeting tomorrow, some appointments, if I mess up we'll have to BUZZ the whole thing... what was I thinking?!?!"
50 minutes later....

Micah still loves me. and I made him PINKY PROMISE that I did a good job and he wasn't just saying it because I'm his wife. He promised I actually did a really good job, and he was surprised himself.

Staying Up Late, New Ride, No Twins

Isla decided that she didn't want to go to bed just yet. She stayed up until 10:30 pm. But mommy was so tired. Isla was tired too, she just didn't want to admit it. So she snuggled even more so than usual. But I didn't mind - especially when she was this snuggly.
Note the tired eyes of isla. She was being so silly I just couldn't keep a serious face when she was jabbering about her long day.

This is Isla's BFF Bostyn - he lives on the top floor. Don't let their sizes fool you - Isla is a little bigger for her age, and Boss-man is a little smaller. He's 3 1/2 months older than Isla. He's an energetic little guy - always on the move! Crawling, standing up, and now he's wanting to hold anything and take assisted steps.

Isla just watches him and you can see she's asking "Why are you always on the move??" Only because Isla is more on the chill side of life ;)

Ok, ok. Don't let the above picture of these two little angels fool you. It's more like this the other 98% of the time:

I have a whole new admiration for mommas and daddys with two close in age, or twins. They are a handful. A very cute handful though.

Random picture of me and my siblings tuesday night at the Texas Roadhouse in Logan. We hardly ever get pictures together! But isn't that just life when all of the kids are grown up, having kids and careers?!

Isla has been enjoying growing. In fact she's really great at it. So much that mommy was such a weakling and decided she was just getting too big to carry around in her infant carseat.
I had been debating about this subject for a couple weeks. Then the decision was made that since she was 27 inches long, and 21 lbs (with clothes, diaper, and blankets) and the infant carseat went up to 30 lbs max, and 30 inches long that it was on with the new convertible carseat.
After lots and lots of research we decided (and when I say "we" I mean me...) that it was the the Britax "cowmooflage". Of course it's highly rated in safety, and her head doesn't roll forward when she sleeps. Now I really have to stick to a schedule!! Before I could just throw her in a carseat and let her fall asleep, now I have to wake her up everytime we get out and in. Oh well, the life of a growing baby :( bittersweet.
So since we aren't planning on having kiddos in the near future, we decided to sell the carseat. But on investigation it wasn't going to get a lot of money unless I sold the whole travel system. But I L.O.V.E. the jogging stroller. It's a babytrend. We use it a lot. So of course I went looking to see if they sold the jogging stroller separately online. Nope.
But they had a pink one in the same edition at Babies R Us, and we're 5 minutes away from that store. So I put the traveling system on ksl and 45 minutes later it was sold. Cue bittersweet moments again.
But Isla loves the forward-facing stroller. And she's digging the pink.

Have I mentioned that I'm just madly in love with these two yet??

Who knew carseat and strollers would cause this much research and grief???

Crafts

Micah's momma is so good to me. She's always so thoughtful, and this past month she gave me a great gift. Her old sewing machine that she got when she was a sophomore in highschool. It works great, and I can now get to all those cute projects that I see all over the blogging world!
Gaye pulled out this cute little turquoise box and told me that this was the best thing ever. She opened it up and it was a buttonholer. "I wish my machine had a good buttonholer like this one is." It's perfect, and I have the perfect project for this.

Here's Isla's Fisher Price Space Saver Highchair. I love it. I just hook it to a chair, and she's good to go. It has different positions, the tray is easy removable, and it can be put in the dishwasher. But it looks a little masculine. So one of my crafty blogs re did her cover.

Here's what I have so far. The binding is taking a little longer, because I have to be very patient and accurate.

The buttonholer will be perfect because the straps have to come on through the fabric.

It's been 5 years since my last sewing project, so there's a couple mistakes, I didn't want to cut my old highchair cover up for the pattern, so I guess-timated my own pattern, and you all know how that goes...but it actually turned out pretty good.

I have made a mommy BFF in my apartment building. We go on walks, take treats to eachother, watch babies if one of us has to do an errand, trade a night a month for date night. It's great to have her around. She's crafty, hip, a good baker, cook, and funny.

She made her little boy this bird mobile:

(except for the bottom bird that looks like he's hanging) So she has a stockpile of fabric and let me go through it and pick out some fabric for a mobile for isla. I'm so excited to finish it this week.

Melons

Gold's gym attracts alot of interesting individuals - from people who really want to get back into shape, muscle builders, mommas, college kids, and women with some (uh-hem...) big melons.

I've never felt like I needed plastic surgery in my life. But for some reason when I go to work out at GG I feel like I need to start saving up for some...melons! Not really - I don't think that it's for me (I'm scared to death of the recovery and side effects) and I'm comfortable with my body image, but let's face it- when you're standing next to Miss. Double E you feel like a 5th grader heading into puberty. Not to mention that I catch myself just staring gawking at them. But is it really bad manners when they're wearing Victoria Secret shirts that are meant for the bedroom?

Have you ever felt this way?! just something that was on my mind heading home from the gym.

5 months

Happy 5 months to our baby girl! She is a chunky one. She is smiley. But most important she is healthy.

We had a doctors appointment today and he said he's loving her numbers because she's doing great at her only job - growing.

So here's her vitals:

Weight:
2 weeks: 7.88 lbs 30%tile
2 months: 11 lbs 56%tile
5 months: 16.25 lbs 79%tile

Height:
2 weeks: 20.35" 44%tile
2 months: 23"72%tile
5 months: 26.25" 89%tile

Head Circumference:
2 weeks: 13.5" 9%tile
2 months: 15" 28%tile
5 months: 16.5" 55%tile

She's doing all the normal development at her age, grasping, rolling over, supported sitter, cooing, giggling, eating her toes...long division, reading, spelling out words in her alphabet soup...ok ok maybe not those ones quite yet ;)

she has been scratching herself though! She has a new scratch every other day. Especially on her nose. She just had a scratch heal over, then later that day a new one. Then later that night another one by her eye. And i cut and filed those little fingers and toes. But I guess they'll always find a way.

But it doesn't seem to bother her.

Her immunizations went well too. She only screamed on the second shot and the cry only lasted for 10 seconds. She just knew she was going to get a tazmanian devil band-aid at the end.

Likes:
bananas. applesauce. butternut squash. avacados. peas. pears. carrots. sweet potatoes {loves sweet potatoes} jabbering. getting gobbled up. toes. reading. bathtime. swimming. going to the grocery store and have everyone comment on how she has the cutest cheeks. watching her fingers. kick her legs when we change her diaper. put everything in her mouth.
Dislikes:
being ignored-she actually screamed at us tonight. I told her that screaming and interupting us was rude - and she just smiled. being held like a baby. pajamas that cover her hands and feet.

Lucha Libre Party

We attended a fun party for our nephew on micah's side. Mr. Hobie Micah Hodlmair that is. He turned 5 years old, and camie and jeff decided on a nacho libre wrestling party. it was so cute to see all the 4-7 year olds in there lucha libre costumes camie found. and only two bonked noses and a bloody nose throughout it all. not too bad if you ask me.

they started off with weighing in:

isla's stats:
18 lbs
25 inches tall
12 inch reach
signature move: the atomic diaper, and the super slime slash
nickname: squeak attack
hometown: from your worst nightmare

all ready with costume and all!

and of course if you've ever seen nacho libre you have to have the ultimate fighter: ramseys (or however you spell that...) so micah stepped in:

all the boys were worn out from all the hard work. and they were loving their costumes.
