Camping

We took Isla on her first camping trip - it was so fun we're exhausted! My dad surprised us all by purchasing some four-wheelers and a dirt bike and we headed up to Hardware Ranch.

But on the way to the very top, we ran into a problem: A huge mudpit. The back left wheel sank up to the frame, and the boys started digging....and digging....and digging.

They decided that they could hook the blue truck to my dad's truck, and pull it out. That just started the adventure! Poor trucks though- you can see that the black truck now has a dent in it from the fifth-wheel in the picture below:

And while getting firewood the blue truck now needs a new back window. The log bounced and shattered the whole thing. Ugh. Camping is expensive.

Isla and I sat in the truck playing and keeping warm - I felt so bad because I wasn't much help to the guys digging out the trailer. I guess I kept baby quiet and happy.

We set up base camp and started four wheeling through the mud puddles and snow - yep there was still quite a bit of snow up there. But that just added to the fun. The boys always came back drenched in mud. They couldn't of been happier.

Isla was the cleanest baby up there in the mountains - i boiled some water and we had bathtime in some tupperware.

She loved watching the fire, having all the attention on her, and she enjoyed her first four wheeling ride. She'll be a happy toddler running around in the mud next year when we camp. For now she just stays in the trailer being warm...and picking up mud and dirt to eat. Yummy.

My Mother's Day 2011

I hope all you momma's got spoiled last Sunday! Micah and Isla did a great job!

We decided to add 4 children to our family the past week (the reason for my absence):

I am for sure now that 5 children are not in our future ;) ha ha. Goodness gracious! That was one crazy week. Our "children" were 8, 7, 5, 3, and 7 months. My schedule was packed with naps, food, soccer, baseball, dance, piano lessons, and the dreaded laundry and cleaning!

I gained a new appreciation for my momma's with kids close in age ;) But micah made sure to spoil me yesterday with some brunch and pink gerber daisies for my week of hard work.

SO I GOT A NEW WASHER AND DRYER!!!! I never thought I would ask for appliances, but man-oh-man I wanted a set reallllllyyyy bad. So Micah obliged and I couldn't be more happier doing laundry...well atleast for the next 2 months or so ;)

My brothers Ryan and Travis came down for a night out to the movie THOR! New celebrity crush of Chris Hemsworth. It was a really loud guy movie, but I'd watch it again ;)

My brothers decided they had to dress-up. Isla isn't sure of these two uncles sometimes...

And Isla decided to start getting up on all fours and wiggle her way to ALMOST crawling ;) insert bittersweet tears here.

She's just been amazing lately. She's in that mood of always wanting to observe, learn, and touch. She get's so frustrated that her legs and hands are moving fast enough to crawl all over. But she'll practice so hard, then hurry and roll on over to what she wants.

Ugh. I seriously just want to squeeze her and kiss her all day long lately. She's just growing so much, and before you know it she'll be running around playing with friends {leaving mommy in the dust}

I just observe all your kiddos on "blogworld" and see how fast they've grown - and I just want to stop time and enjoy every little growing moment of Isla.

But anywho, happy momma's day to all the momma's in my life, hope you had a great one!

She's Official

She's officially caught up on all her immunizations - 4 shots total this time :( She couldn't get enough air into her lungs to scream out fast enough! Poor babe.

And she's officially an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation! Most people are surprised that American Indians actually have a paper that states they are 4/4 degree, 1/2 degree, or 1/4 degree Indian.

It's one of the longest processes to get enrolled, because they of course have to check back into my ancestry, and receive her original birth certificate, and make sure that she is legite ;) But then again, she does have blue eyes, light brown/blonde hair, and a button nose...nothing at all like a Navajo Indian.

But after 4 months we finally received her official paper!

Mine is the left paper, yep I'm 1/2 degree Navajo (surprised?? the freckles and light skin must have thrown you off!)

But the paperwork stops with Isla. Her children won't have a paper - unless she marries a Navajo Indian- because they stop at 1/4 degree.

But with this paper she is eligible for VFC (Vaccines for Children), and her higher education is going to be paid for. There is a lot more that is available but mostly to those who live on the reservations.

I told Isla that she was officially "Caucasian" and "Navajo". But she was more interested in eating the paper.

7 Months

7 Months Old!

Weight: 18.75 lbs (81%tile)

Height: 27 in (73%tile)

Head Circumference: 17 in (55%tile)

She's doing great, and is a healthy little girl! She wears 9-12 month clothing, is not a picky eater, has a little scrunch in her nose when she smiles, cheeks so big I can gobble them every morning, jabbers wherever we go, and squeals with delight and excitement.

She's on the move too! She rolls all over, is scrunching up like a little worm to try and crawl, tries her hardest to sit up all by herself, but those abs still need a little more work ;) Gone are the snuggle days. She's a squirmer.
