Big Boy Toys!!!

Every now and then Tawni lets me get on the blog and post something fun for me. This last week was exactly that! Our anniversary was awesome we had a babysitter went and saw "The Help" laughed and cried. Ate sushi, shopped, bought little toddler tom's shoes as a gift for Isla, on our day.... Parenthood right?

All in all it was a blast!

Today though was Guy Time! My dad and I had been planning this for a while and finally got our chance. I've been working on Grandpa's old Landcruiser for ages and finally got it running and doing great! So we got it painted. It looks unreal!!!!!
Those of you who have not followed here is the progression.
This is me at age 3 in front of the Coyote. I learned to drive in it.
This is how it spent the winter, not moving much.

Got it running but looks were a little rough.

Now it looks great!!!!!

Thanks again to my sweethear! and our cute baby! They were tons of help.

Here is the link to my build if you want to read more!

She's on the Prowl

She's getting braver everyday with walking!

She even gives herself some kisses for all her hard work, ok she just likes to give herself kisses anyways.

Stairs are no problem...well except going down, she still thinks head first is the way to go.

Such bittersweet times - out goes our baby, and in comes a big girl!

11 Months Old

11 Months Old
22 lbs
29 in
3 teeth

Loves: putting on her own shoes, shirts, shorts. Books. Baby Einstein. Noodles. Jabbering. Singing. Squealing. Giving kisses. High Fives. Snuggles. Standing. Walking Along the furniture. Walks. Swinging.

Loves playing with her cousins:

Loves her Colorado Casualty Lion Daddy brought home.

We have so much fun with her - she giggles at the silliest things, and is starting to venture out by herself and play for long spaces of time by herself.

Back Again

It's been FOREVER since i've blogged! Have you given up on me yet?! We've been so busy this Summer and I'll attempt to try and catch up!

Micah and I just got back from our week long vacation with our cousins and minus baby (that was a big step for us!) but we had a blast on the cruise, snorkeling, zip lines, and eating!

Beautiful Cabo San Lucas with our cruise ship behind us:

It got a little crazy with all the snorkelers, water taxis, and swimmers.

The fun towel origami every night...i wasn't sure what this one was...a bunny??

Since Micah served in Chihuahua Mexico he trusts the street vendors! Me...not so much...so he got himself his fruit bag served with a chili seasoning and lime flavoring. I took pictures and waited for the cruise food ;)

Micah loved jumping from the rock, especially the very top. Hali and I jumped from the middle part, and that was high enough for us! I'm such a wimp with heights!

The highlight of our trip was going to Puerta Vallarta and ziplining. The tour guides were so funny and upbeat. It started raining - downpour rain that soaked us - but the guides told us that it was just more fun, and he was right because it wasn't too hot and it was beautiful warm rain.

We went deeeepppp into the mountains - this was our view of Puerta Vallarta and we could see our cruise ship from the top. That was an adventure in itself to get to the ziplining spot, the roads were washing away in some parts and pretty sure that all the tires weren't on the road at some point.

We got back Sunday night and got to see Isla earlier than expected! We got all the snuggles we could  before her bedtime. She wasn't too sure about us at first (a week is a long time!) but finally warmed up Monday and I think it clicked in that we were missing for awhile! She turned 11 months on the first and is just growing up so fast! But I'll do a post on that later!

24 Years Old

So it's been a pretty busy Summer already!! I had my 24th birthday on July 11 - and was spoiled with lots of loves from my family!

Micah's present to me was the trip to Maryland to see one of my bestest friends get married. We met July 2003 when we were both exchange students to France for our Junior year.

She flew out here to Utah for my wedding in 2007:

She got married in a beautiful bed and breakfast in Havre de Grace Maryland on July 2. It was so fun to see her and the beautiful East Coast!

But the best present is my little girl Isla. She gave me extra kisses and snuggles on my birthday. But she made sure that she got some treats on my birthday.

Wow. 24 years old. That shouldn't seem older, but now that I'm a mom i feel older!

Calling all Barbie-ians

Micah and I love to visit estate/garage sales. Sometimes just to get out of the house. We had visited 4 garage sales before we hit the "jackpot" as I called it.

I know most of you will appreciate our $20 find:

Oh yes it's a whole Fisher-Price kitchen set. I'm sure most of you played with these when you were little. My grandma still has her set at her house.

Included in the $20 was a random Barbie box. But now that I have dived in to clean and sterilize everything, I've realized how many parts Barbie things have to them.

I've figured out most of the sets. But what the heck are these yellow things to?!?!

Pretty sure that us fellow "Barbie-ians" need a playdate to put all the pieces together. My memory isn't that great after all these years.

Isla is going to get tired of mommy joining in on her playdates in the future.

Boating

Isla had her first boating trip with Papa Dave and Grandma Gaysie. She did great and had so much fun watching everyone!

Here's my favorite pic of Isla this Summer. I love the hair.

Here's her two teeth she has so far:

Micah has so much fun being a daddy. He does some of the most random things with her, such as making pirate hats and swords out of newspapers.

Isla: "Walk the plank daddy!"
