Isla's Swimming Lesson

It was a success! I was so excited when I called in, because the advertisement was for 6 months and older. But she l.o.v.e.s bathtime and micah was a swim instructor and said the earlier the better - only because they learn to relax in the water when they're really little.

I felt a little bad when I put her under the water the first time, she came up sputtering and looking at me with a glare in her eyes, pretty sure she was saying "What the HE*% are you thinking mom?! Why would you do that?!"

But the instructor assured us moms that when we're doing this it's teaching them to close there mouths under water, and to kick upwards. But she did great after the first dunk, those babies are quick learners...

And we're happy to report that she was the top floater of her class. You hold the baby's head in your hands - feet pointing the other way - while you're looking straight down at them smiling and talking calmly. Isla was at an advantage because she doesn't know what it's like to sit up all the time, most of her time is laying down (the instructor told us this) But we'll still claim she was the top floater ;)

Happy New Year 2011

Ha ha yes, this is a little bit late...but it seems winter in Utah slows down blogging anyways, so better late than never ;)

Christmas 2010

We had such a great Christmas. It was soo relaxing and fun! We started off with opening Christmas presents at our house, then onto Micah's sisters house to have some yummy breakfast, and we decided we would head up to Logan to see my family.

I got a Christmas present a little early (3 days to be exact) and my dad spoiled me (as always) I got my new West Elm duvet cover with shams. I HAD to wash it, because it would take atleast half a day to wash and set up, and I knew i HAD to sleep in it for Christmas day :)

Isla also got an early present from Santa, a toy box/shelf for all the new presents that were coming her way!

Here it is all set up:
My Christmas present all done up. The pillows were from my brother (I asked him for some "colorful pillows" he paused for a couple of seconds and told me "that is the stupidest thing to ask for from a guy. You might as well ask me for a whole new wardrobe. I'll get a gift card.") In hindsight I guess that was a pretty silly request ;)
I love the new bedding set, it's all down/feather from the pillows, to the comforter.

From my hubby: two MATCHING nightstands. This whole time we've been married, I've never hand matching nightstands. I love them :)

Christmas afternoon sporting some new clothes (sooo hard to buy since the extra baby lbs are still around) All you mama's know how this goes!

Oooh how i love these two:

Isla and her Christmas presents:

I can't wait until we can play with ALL of them!

Since she's hit the 3 months we've got a whole new wardrobe to sport! Here's one of my favs from Grandma Maisie, a duck outfit:

Complete with a tail and socks:
Ha ha ha cracks me up everytime I see it!
Micah got a clutch something or other...for the Toyota FJ, a new phone, Wii Madden 11, Controllers for the Wii, and some $$ from his parents.
I got spoiled with a new phone, my new bedroom set, some clothes, $$ from Micah's parents, and lots of time with Micah and Isla (We hardly ever get to spend lots of time together!)
We had some blood shed Christmas morning. Micah was opening up the tummy time mirror (up above) and it slipped, and cut her above her lip. Poor baby, she's probably traumatized about presents now.

And just one more picture of Isla, I love her smile :)

Christmas Party

I feel like a "grown up" when I think when I graduated High School (all 5 1/2 years ago!) But when the Holidays come around we try to all get together, because most of us are in Cache Valley.

Here we have (from top left) Ryon Bingham, Kirk Bingham, and Shaughnessy Bingham, Isla Platt, Kristi Jensen, Kyson Benson, Kyler Benson, Chase Ferrara, and Cassandra. ( Bottom left) Ashley (my sis), Kairie, Me, Teana, and Heidi Benson.
The kids behaved themseleves great, Kairie was figuring out that sharing could be fun...sometimes.

All the gals: Teana, Kristi, Heidi, Tawni, Isla, Lindsey, Shaughnessy.

The guys: Chase, Kyler, Kirk, Travee (my brother), and Scott.

Shaughnessy can tell you how many faces Kirk does in pictures. She rarely can get a "normal" one from him ;)

Lindsey and Scott Kirby:

We had such a great time catching up and just chatting the night away! Merry Christmas 2011!
